Focus on your strengths by: Mark Jenney

People in life who achieve average results spend a lot of the time trying to focus on their areas of weakness. They try to improve those weak areas in their life. Those people in life who achieve extraordinary results focus primarily on what they are good and they focus on making the good areas great and they delegate and outsource those things they are not good at instead of trying to become good at them.

I challenge you to spend the next year focusing on the things you are really good at and delegate those things that you are not and see how much your life changes.

What's your favorite charity

I am focusing a lot of my energy now days working on a plan to expand my charitable giving and help out more in the community. Just recently I signed up for the Big Brothers/Big Sisters program. This is a great program and I suggest looking into it if you would like to make the difference in a child's life. You will be able to bring joy and happiness to a child who may not currently have it. Most of the children in the Big Brothers/Big Sisters program are underprivileged children who could use some proper guidance and direction.

If you would like to get more information on this program check out this site: http://www.bbbs.org

Step away from your business

Sometimes as a business owner you get so involved in the running of the day to day operations that you overlook the long term goals of the company. I want to give one piece of advice to business owners and that is to step away from your business from time to time so you can make strategic decisions instead of tactical decisions. To grow your business to the next level sometimes you need to step away.

If you have a business that has one million dollars per year in revenue. You may be able to turn your company into a two million dollar per year company by making tactical decisions. However if you want to turn it into a fifty million dollar per year company that can only be done by making strategic decisions.

As business owners we all get way too wrapped up in our work sometimes. Take a few days and step away. It will make a world of difference.

Retiring from internet marketing - Mark Jenney

The time has come to start a new chapter in my business life. For the past 5 years I have had a big involvement in the online information marketing business. My company has specialized in providing digital products such as e-books and turn-key software solutions.

It has been a great learning process along the way and the knowledge and experiences I have gained are priceless. Being involved in information marketing we provided a lot of "how to" products to our customers.

Products such as an e-book on how to legally beat a speeding ticket in court, or an e-book on how to start your own e-bay or affiliate marketing business or other products such as search engine submission software that allows you to submit your website to all the search engines.

Providing these products and services has been both a good and bad experience. The great side of the "how to" business is when you receive a phone call or email from one of your customers and they tell you how using your product you changed their life for the better. The downside of the "how to" business is that sometimes people purchase the products looking for the magic solution. As it is with any "how to" product anyone purchases. You always get out of the product what you put into it.

The "how to" business is the same as a gym membership. If you purchase a gym membership and go to the gym every day and work out you get the results you want. But if you just purchase a gym membership and don't do anything thinking that just because you purchased the membership you should start losing weight you are not going to get your desired results.

The bad thing about being involved in the "how to" business is that no matter how good your product is not everyone is going to get their desired results because not everyone is willing to put in the effort. You can only provide the information you can not force them to do the work. The good thing about being involved in the "how to" business was the part of being able to change the lives of those customers who purchased the information and applied it.

The time has come for me to change the direction of my business career. I am now focusing all my time, energy and money on Philanthropy and working on my new business ventures which include real estate investing, stock investing and several new online companies that are more serviced based companies providing business to business services.

I am still working on finishing up my new charity site but it's about 90% finished. I would love to hear your feedback on the site. http://www.MarkJenneyCares.com

I look forward to sharing more of my thoughts as the process of transitioning from one business vertical to another takes place.

Creativity is more important than knowledge

"Creativity is more important than knowledge"

This is a quote from Albert Einstein. I believe this to be true. In life many people feel they are not worthy of success or feel they can not succeed because they don't have specific knowledge about something.

This is not true at all. If you are lacking knowledge but have creativity you can become successful.

Many of the most successful people throughout history did not necessarily do well in traditional school. They may have lacked traditional knowledge but they had an extraordinary amount of creativity.

There are many reasons why so many super-intelligent people, and even geniuses, do not get good grades in school. First, research has now found that there are many forms of intelligence other than just rote learning ability. And, in fact, rote learning ability is a lower-level of intelligence function.

Creativity, the highest form of intelligence, is not recognized, measured or fostered by the conventional school system. Research is now suggesting that perhaps the majority of super-creative people are slower at rote learning than people of lesser intelligence.

History is filled with scientific geniuses who made pivotal advancements in the field of science, yet got poor grades in school.

I want you to know that even if you did not get good grades in school, even if people have told you that you were not going to accomplish something, even if you think your not smart. You can succeed. Just be creative.

Moving onto new thing in business and in life - Mark Jenney

I have learned a lot over the past several years however the time has come for me to move on to new things in business and in life. I am spending more time these days on my philanthropic work. This is something that is really fulfilling.

I came from very meager beginnings so being able to help out those who are less fortunate is one of the best blessings that I have in my life. My goal now is to donate to a charitable cause every day of the year. My charitable contributions right now are at least one per week however I plan to increase my contributions to one per day.

This last year I was fortunate enough to be able to donate to many charitable causes. My goal for this year is to be able to double my donations to good charitable organizations.

I am spending more and more time these days researching different charitable causes. If anyone has suggestions on worthy causes I could either donate time or money to I would love to hear from you. I am actively looking for good causes to help out.

I am excited about where the next year or two will take me. I am in the process of starting up multiple new companies right now that are quit different from anything I have ever done before.

My major goal in business has changed. My first goal in business when I was poor and growing up on the wrong side of the tracks was to be able to provide for my family so we did not have to struggle financially any longer. Growing up at the poverty level when you are worried about having enough money for food is no fun and I wanted to make sure I didn't live like that forever and I wanted to better the lives of not just myself but my family. Now that I have been able to help provide for my family my goals have changed.

My goal now is to create a business that has ever lasting value and will be here in 100 years. I want to create a business that my great grand children will own and run. The businesses I have been involved with have been great and I have been able to help a lot of people. However they are more short term businesses that go from one promotion to the next. I am looking forward to creating a long lasting business model that is not relying on the next promotion to grow the company.

I am looking forward to the next several years as they should have many good surprises ahead.
